Fairly Traded Organic Tea
In 1998 Pistol & BURNES began selling Sri Lanka Tea from the first certified organic tea cultivation. It took immense efforts to put this combination of fair trade and organic agriculture into practice, but the results were fully rewarding for all parties involved.
Pioneering this organic and fairly traded concept is something to be proud of. Since the introduction of fair trade, cultivation of organic teas in Sri Lanka, Darjeeling and Assam has been started. Today, this means social harmony for more than 5000 families. It means safer and healthier jobs, fair wages, better living and health care conditions as well as education and training opportunities. Last but not least Pistol & BURNES seeks a responsible treatment of natural resources.
